Curiosity doesn't always kill the cat, in this case, curiosity created the craft. Curtis Micklish, a curious kid from day one, went from being intrigued by how things are made to how to build them himself. A self-proclaimed (and clearly obvious) hardworking craftsman, his passion for challenges inspires his ability to take a bare bones idea and run with it. And in his words, “it doesn’t get much better than doing what I do.” Enough said.
With a thoughtful and brilliant design process from idea to completion, Curtis’s message conveys his goal of making something unique and beautiful with a purpose. And that he does. He's most recently known for the Butler, which creatively accommodates your iPhone, various other knick-knacks and also the Armadilla remote control holder (which he also designed). These create a stylish home for your in-house entertainment center. Genius? We think so!
A calling can be a powerful and personal thing. Although not everyone knows or engages in theirs. Curtis Micklish does (professionally and playfully). He is called daily to the water and waves, in his favorite place and home - San Diego, CA. Curtis moved around a bit but always seemed to find his way back to the water. His perfect day involves getting a good surf in (along with accomplishing something great in his design and spending time with his fiancé, friends and family). In fact, our team met with Curtis and his fiancé at Dwell on Design this year and they were awesome. We’re just saying.
