Why We Love It

Neat, elegant, and yet brimming with personality, the Sejour Lounge Chair is a fine blend of the new with the familiar. Though small in size, it is extremely comfortable, with a deep, generous seat and a distinctively curved backrest. Designed by the Danish-Italian duo GamFratesi, the Sejour Lounge Chair bears the finely-balanced contrasts that are the hallmarks of their collaborations: soft with hard, warm with cool, weight with lightness. The tactile interplay of brass and upholstery fabric gives the chair a rich and engaging personality. Indeed, place two of them adjacent to each other and they appear as though deep in conversation. Inspired by the Victorian era ‘slipper chair’, infused with mid-century Scandinavian design tradition, and even referencing the iconic Beetle Chair, the mix of new with familiar makes a bold and welcoming statement in office receptions, hotel lobbies and living rooms, and pairs magnificently with the Sejour Chair with armrest.

  • The Sejour Lounge Chair is a low-slung chair with playful proportions characterized by a deep, generous seat and a gently curving backrest set atop a slender metal frame and optional wooden armrests.
  • Inspired by a contemporary take on the midcentury Scandinavian design tradition, the Sejour Lounge Chair by GamFratesi has a soft, rounded backrest enveloping its solid, welcoming seat.
  • It offers a tremendous comfort and an invitation to stay awhile, as its name suggests.
  • The curve of the back supports a restful sitting position even over long periods of time.
  • The chosen expression can be personalized with a wide selection of upholstery options.
  • With its neat shape and modest size it is ideal for small spaces and tight corners.
  • It makes a stylish statement in a bedroom – in fact it references early eighteenth-century ‘slipper’ chairs, once reserved for sitting on while donning shoes or slippers in elegant Victorian ladies’ boudoirs before appearing in shared living spaces by the 1950s.
  • The intimate dialogue between the two forms – styled with and without armrests – results in a small, yet elegant chair with a restrained and calm aesthetic.
  • The Sejour Lounge Chair works particularly well as a pair and therefore makes the ideal statement piece for office receptions and hotel lobbies.
  • Production lead times for made to order items may vary.
