Why We Love It

A classic makes a comeback. The Spanner Lounge Chair was first created in 1950 by Russell Spanner, and had been out of production for more than 50 years, when it was revived (with the help and permission of the Spanner family, of course). Every design detail stayed true to the original – woven-strapped seat, solid birch frame and exposed carriage bolts. An icon was reborn.

  • Designed in 1950 by Russell Spanner.
  • Frame is constructed with solid birch and curved birch plywood components.
  • Finger-joint and dowel-joint construction.
  • Woven-web seat material is 100% cotton strapping.
  • Tapered legs are attached to seat with exposed carriage bolts.
  • Product colors may vary slightly from those shown on your display.
  • Assembly not required.
