Why We Love It

Evja is a family of lounge tables that Torbjørn Bekken designed with an organic and almost floating expression. Bekken graduated from the National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in 1946. Fresh from school he was picked up by the progressive furniture and interior design company Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor, where he worked for most of his career. and words best to describe him is technical, detail oriented and elegant. This can be exemplified by the long uninterrupted curving line from the edge of the table towards the legs, how it slightly narrowing downwards to the floor. It’s like a ballerina lightly tipping around on the surface.

  • The Evja Coffee Table is available in Round and Rectangle sizes.
  • Designed in 1958.
  • Available in solid European white oak treated with oil, white pigmented oil or smoke stained lacquer.
  • It is possible to order other wood types and surface finishes for projects.
  • FSC certified premium hardwood, sourced from responsible and renewable forests.
  • As wood is a naturally sourced material, variations in color and pigmentation may occur. Appearance may change over time as furniture is affected by the environment in which its placed.
  • Wipe spills immediately using a soft and dry cloth. Clean using a soft cloth with lukewarm water that has been well wrung and wipe it off with a dry cloth. To dust, use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush regularly.
  • For treated hardwood furniture, regularly apply soap or oil to protect and maintain finish.
  • Top and legs ship separately in two boxes.
  • If out of stock, item typically ships in 8-10 weeks – contact us for details.
