Not your normal chair, the Nagasaki Stool is made of perforated sheet metal which features unique details, such as the little stirrup that holds the seat and legs together and is welded on a four-legged metal frame. Today, the chair is part of the permanent collection at the internationally renowned, privately owned Vitra Design Museum.
The curators at Gubi make dwelling in the past look good. Their team of "treasure hunters" is on a mission to re-launch iconic designs from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and today. That's over fifty years of eclectic, international, and groundbreaking mid-century modern design brought to the present.
