The Smart Wood collection is the outcome of Kartell's unremitting research into the possibility of giving three dimensional form to a material which so far has always been two dimensional.
- The Smart Wood collection – comprised of the K/Wood Armchair plus matching S/Wood Footrest, as well as the Q/Wood and P/Wood Chairs – features unique woodworking technology that combines timeless elegance with contemporary shapes.
- The regal K/Wood Armchair and S/Wood Footrest are also available with a leather seat.
- Using patented technology, the wood is worked with a mold designed to bring the curvature of the panel to the very edges, creating a seat with sinuous roundness, combining the beauty of the wood and its ability to connect to nature with extraordinarily ergonomic lines.
- Kartell has managed to bend this material horizontally and vertically, to create three-dimensionality in which even the side sections create welcoming curves, to ensure maximum comfort while embracing the designer's creativity.
- Available in classic veneer made with plywood of overlaid beech, or in slatted ash, in which the stripping and cutting of the trunk make the wood grain visible, both styles are available in a light or dark wood finish.
- The veneer version is characterised by more uniform colour, while the slatted ash version showcases the unique grain of the wood.
- Combine with chrome steel legs for the light version and chrome or black painted legs for the dark version.
- Made using wood sourced from FSC Certified forests with minimal consumption of raw materials in each element of which the product is composed.
- The finish of this chair blends advanced industrial technology with the naturalness of wood, as a result, each individual product features different tones and veining, showcasing the unique and precious beauty of this material.
