Why We Love It
Conscious Chair 3162 designed in 1958 by the renowned Danish furniture designer and architect Børge Mogensen and Esben Klint. The chair is made of FSC® wood and Mater Circular Materials, where an innovative technology allows us to recycle fiber-based waste materials with recycled plastic waste from GROHE. It is the first time that a Børge Mogensen design has been relaunched in a different material than the original.
- From the outset, Mater's ambition has been to use FSC-certified wood in their production. This is now implemented with small exceptions. In an FSC® certified forest, no more trees than the forest can reproduce are felled, so the exploitation of nature is avoided.
- Mater believes in the importance of transparency. By doing Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) on their furniture, they can analyze the total climate emission for each of our product’s lifespan.
- Pair with the Conscious Table 5462 to complete the look.
- This product is produced in a production facility that is 100% powered by hydropower – a renewable energy resource.
- Seat and backrest crafted with coffee shell waste from BKI’s coffee roasting process mixed with recycled industrial plastic waste from GROHE.
- Frame consists of FSC® Certified solid oak or beech wood.
- Hard plastic gliders installed as standard.
