Snakes are only scary when they're not lamps. Case in point: this super sleek Cobra Lamp with an oval shade that is reminiscent of a cobra snake's neck, and is really good at providing inviting illumination. Designer Greta Grossman was highly inspired by the wave of European Modernism in the 1940s, and as a result played a significant role in defining the mid-century modern aesthetic that we all know and love today.
